Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Classroom management strategies to address student behavior, eliminate behavioral distractions, and monitor progress.
In this Section

We know every school has a unique climate and needs which cannot be addressed by a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our online EDUC 645 Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) course will give you the skills to develop PBIS strategies that best fit your school. You will learn how to address student behavior, eliminate behavioral distractions, and monitor progress.

Register now to reserve a spot. There is no registration fee to reserve a class.

Our PBIS training course includes how to:

  • Critically analyze PBIS practices and viewpoints.
  • Apply essential principles of PBIS, varied assessments, and interventions.
  • Create a data-driven plan using three-level interventions.
  • Analyze data using data management systems and tools.

These aspects will help you understand how to establish a school-wide plan for cultural norms and positive behavior management. You will also learn the roles and functions of the school-wide PBIS team and how, together, you can create an action plan for sustainable practices.

Our Students Say...

"I think the University of Wisconsin Stout online program provides students with excellent instruction in a user-friendly way."
~ Cheryl Diviney, New Jersey

"This course has really put pieces of the PBIS puzzle together for me. I didn’t realize that the behavior system our high school had been implementing was really PBIS. This course allowed me to visualize and reflect upon what we are already doing within our school, as well as look at changes that may need to be implemented."
~ Jennifer Staidl, Menomonie, Wisconsin
