Applications Open December 16

The University of Wisconsin-Stout is currently developing a varsity esports pilot program for Fall 2020The program will offer students an opportunity to compete for Stout against more than 170 other colleges universities across the country. Games represented in the pilot program tentatively include League of Legends, Rocket League and Overwatch

Over the past year, the university has been addressing topics such as developing an esports arena, acquiring esports-capable hardware, student-athlete recruitment, and connections to academic programs and student organizations. Other topics such as branding, marketing, and scheduling are still being addressed as we continue towards the full program launch next September. 

NACE

National Association of Collegiate Esports

UW-Stout has joined the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE), a nonprofit membership association of over 170 colleges & universities across the United States. NACE hosts championships for titles such as Counterstike and Rocket League. 

Collegiate Esports Leagues

In addition to our NACE membership, UW-Stout will be participating in various collegiate leagues. Examples include Riot's College League of Legends (CLoL) and the Overwatch Collegiate Series, hosted by Tespa and sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment.
