Town Hall Series Begins October 23

To continue to increase transparency and provide opportunities for input, I am pleased to announce a monthly town hall series that will begin this month. The town halls will allow us to collect feedback that will help inform decision-making associated with major campus business and strategic planning, as well as aid in the analysis and understanding of survey results. Town halls differ from open forums in that the purpose of the town halls is to collect feedback from the university, while the primary purpose of the open forums is to keep the campus informed about major issues, decisions, and actions.

Each town hall will focus on a topic tailored to a specific audience and designed to collect feedback for a specific purpose. For example, feedback provided at the town hall on student engagement will be used by the Retention Committee to inform the development of an action plan to increase student engagement and improve scores on the National Survey of Student Engagement. Other topics will include valuing people; equity, diversity and inclusion; and campus climate.  Members of the university community may submit ideas for other topics.

Additional information will be communicated via the Town-Hall SharePoint page, the Strategic Planning Group, and Campus Connections. Most town halls will aim to connect with a specific audience, and these individuals will receive additional information via email in advance of the town hall. Please contact Meridith Wentz (wentzm@uwstout.edu) with any questions.
