UW-Stout's accelerated degree (undergraduate + graduate) programs will give you a jump on your master's degree before you finish with your undergraduate. Save time and money by applying up to nine credits of graduate-level coursework to both the completion of your bachelor's degree and the requirements for a UW-Stout master's degree. Accelerated Degree Program Eligibility
You must have a minimum undergraduate 2.75 GPA (or meet the graduate program's GPA requirement) and be within 45 credits of completing your bachelor's degree to apply for an accelerated program.
How to Apply
The process is easy! Just follow these steps:
- Contact your undergraduate Program Director (PD) as early as possible to explore the Accelerated Program (UG+GR) option, discuss your eligibility, and connect with the appropriate graduate PD.
- Meet with the graduate PD of your intended master’s program to outline recommended course work.
- Once your eligibility* is confirmed, your undergraduate PD will submit the Accelerated Program Enrollment Statement Form, which includes work experience, admissions requirements, GPA, etc.
- Submit your graduate school application, including your application fee and Accelerated Program Enrollment Statement, to the Graduate School.
*Students are eligible to participate in an accelerated program when they are within 45 credits of earning their undergraduate degree and have a GPA of 2.75 or above (or meet the graduate program’s GPA requirement, if different).
Once accepted into the accelerated program, you may begin taking select graduate level courses that will satisfy the requirements of both your undergraduate and graduate degrees while paying the undergraduate tuition rate. Upon graduating with your undergraduate degree with the required GPA, you will be converted to graduate student status to complete your remaining graduate degree requirements.
