As faculty, staff and students prepare for the spring semester, we must continue to support a safe campus workplace and learning environments amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the summer, the Recovery Planning Team developed the Return to Work Plan to help guide this process for fall semester. We have developed an updated plan titled the Return to Spring Plan, which went into effect Jan. 4 and replaces the previous Return to Work Plan. This plan includes the most recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the American College Health Association. The Return to Spring Plan will continue to be updated as the spring semester progresses and as new information becomes available.
Some of the most notable updates to the plan include:
- Campus response procedures
- Child care arrangements
- Course modality changes
- Recreational facilities availability
- Training
- Signage and PPE ordering
- Spring break modification
- Testing, tracing, quarantine and isolation
- WI Exposure Notification App
For questions regarding the Return to Spring Plan, staff should consult with their supervisors or send questions to covid19update@uwstout.edu.
The Recovery Planning Team and I will also host an open university forum at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, via Microsoft Teams. For organizational purposes, it would help to submit questions in advance here. Questions may be posted via the Q&A feature of Teams during the forum. You can access the meeting link here.
Thank you for your continued efforts to support the health and safety of our university community. Your efforts contributed greatly to a successful fall semester, and I am confident that we are well positioned to experience a successful spring semester as well.
