UW-Stout’s commitment to sustainability can be seen in action during the Spring Move Out event for off-campus students. This event is held annually each spring and allows off-campus students to donate, recycle and properly dispose of items they no longer need as they move out of their apartments and houses.
This year’s event will take place on:
- Dates: Monday, May 8, to Wednesday, May 10
- Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Location: Lot 29 behind the Sports and Fitness Center
Items your off-campus student can bring are:
- Furniture: couches, beds, futons, desks, etc.
- Appliances: mini-fridges, microwaves, toasters, etc.
- Electronics: TVs, computers, lamps, etc.
- Clothing
- Nonperishable food items
The Stout Student Association and the City of Menomonie are paying for the cost to dispose and recycle items. The budget is limited, so students must register in CONNECT before arriving. More information can be found in CONNECT.
If your student is in a residence hall, a separate move-out process is in place. Collection boxes will be available in the lobbies of all residence halls for them to donate items. Furniture can be placed next to the collection boxes.
