Mission

UW-Stout's Business Department supports the mission and goals of the School of Management within the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Management. Our mission, through effective and caring stewardship of students in and out of the classroom, and via cross-disciplinary collaborations in research and service to our community, is to facilitate student learning with interactive and participatory teaching, so that our graduates have every opportunity possible to enter successfully a global workforce or to pursue post-graduate studies.

Vision

To be recognized nationally and internationally for the effective integration of research and practice-based teaching, with the resources of a polytechnic institution, to produce innovative, inspired, confident, and successful leaders in business administration who understand the values of entrepreneurialism, diversity, and sustainability in the marketplace.

Values

Engaging our students and each other through ethical, positive, inclusive and supportive discourse.

The UW-Stout polytechnic campus is rich with concepts, innovations, and products. The physical and service infrastructures to support entrepreneurship include the Discovery Center, FabLab, Center for Innovation and Development, Made@Stout, 3DayStartup, Wisconsin Big Idea Tournament, and the expertise of faculty and students across campus in arts, industrial design, engineering, retail, fashion, languages, law, and much more.
