Investing in your future.

Fostering Success provides guidance and resources for youth who have been in foster care, homeless or orphaned and who have an interest in pursuing higher education. We also provide information for other campuses interested in developing their own version of Fostering Success.

The FS office is currently closed and staff will be working remotely for the month of July. We will continue to provide virtual services to our students Monday through Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm. We will do our due diligence to respond in a timely manner to any question or concern you have.

All appointments and communication during the month of July will be via a online format. Scheduling can be done by contacting Angie Ruppe at ruppean@uwstout.edu or Gail Mentzel at mentzelg@uwstout.edu

The FS Closet is also closed.  If you are a current participant in the program and are in need of supplies, please contact one of the FS staff members.

Connecting Youth to Campus

We coordinate overnight experiences for youth (ages 13 - 18) to learn about what college is about, identify personal strengths, and what opportunities exist for youth interested in higher education. If you want to visit Stout, we'll help you set a up a tour!

Students Attending UW-Stout

We educate students coming to Stout about available grants and scholarships as well as provide supplemental advising about courses and resources. There are numerous leadership and involvement opportunities available on and off campus. We'll connect you with other students, organizations, or opportunities so you make the most of your college experience.
